Fees & Rebates
A standard counselling appointment is 50 minutes. The standard fee is $229.20, payable prior to or at the end of the session by cash, card, or bank transfer. A reduced fee of $154.35 may be negotiated for full pension card holders or other exceptional circumstances.
You may be eligible for a rebate of $136.35 per session from Medicare. To qualify for this service, you will need a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) alongside your referral letter. To obtain the MHCP and rebate you must see a GP or Psychiatrist prior to your first session with Dr. Phoebe Kho and obtain a referral. Rebates can be claimed by either the Medicare App, sending your receipt along with a Medicare Claim Form or visiting your local Medicare Office. Rebates are available for most private health insurers where comprehensive extras are part of the policy. Please contact your insurer to check your level of cover and the rebate. Receipts can be taken to your insurer to claim the rebate.
If you do not need a Medicare rebate or a MHCP, you can book directly with the clinic & do not need a referral.
If your counselling treatment or the assessment/report is funded by a third party e.g., Workcover, NDIS or VOCAT, then you must provide Dr. Phoebe Kho with the relevant approval letter/documentation prior to your first booking. Please note that a gap fee may be required. Please contact us further if you have any specific questions.
There are additional fees for support documents or reports that you may require. The additional fees are applied due to the supplemental work that goes into the completion of these legal documents. Some of these include attendance letters, letters of support, VOCAT reports, and cancellations and no shows.
If, for some reason, you need to cancel or postpone your appointment, you are required to provide at least 2 business days (48 hours) notice. Appointments cancelled or rescheduled less than 24 – 48 hours will incur 50% of the appointment fee. Appointments cancelled or rescheduled within less than 24 hours will incur 100% of the appointment fee. Irrespective of the reason, this appointment fee includes cancellations, rescheduling or failure to attend appointments. Amendments to appointments MUST be made via telephone NOT via text message.
Please understand that this cancellation policy is put in place to ensure enough time is provided to offer the appointment time to another client. Short notice cancellations we are rarely able to succeed in offering this appointment to a waiting client, and as a result other clients miss out on getting the psychological service they require, and the clinician’s time is also forfeited. Of note, Medicare and in most cases private health insurers do not provide rebates for cancellation or no attendance fees.
You will receive an appointment reminder (a courtesy text message) via text, but you should not rely solely on this, because it is sent through an automatic system. We would appreciate your prompt confirmation with a Yes. All appointment changes are to be made via telephone.
